    About this paper

    Guitar tab paper

In tablature each line stands for a string, with the lowest string at the bottom, and you write fret numbers on the lines instead of notes on a staff. Every staff here is marked T-A-B at the left and closed with a bar line at each end.

Choose 6 strings for guitar, 4 for bass or ukulele, 5 for five-string bass or banjo, and 7 or 8 for extended-range guitars. The spacing sets the gap between strings; 3 mm leaves room for two-digit fret numbers.

    Frequently asked questions

How many staves fit on a page?

With six strings 3 mm apart you get 10 staves on A4. Wider spacing gives fewer, roomier staves.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
