    About this paper

    Rectangular graph paper

Rectangular graph paper works like ordinary graph paper, but each cell is stretched in one direction. The spacing sets the cell height and the width ÷ height ratio sets the width, so 5 mm with a ratio of 2 gives 10 × 5 mm cells.

Wide cells are handy for tables, timelines and charts where one axis needs more room than the other. Use a ratio below 1 for tall, narrow cells, and add a bold line every few cells for counting.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I make cells taller than they are wide?

Yes. Set the width ÷ height ratio below 1, for example 0.5 for cells twice as tall as they are wide. The ratio can be anything from 0.25 to 4.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
